The Northwest Regional Education Support Agency (NWRESA) is looking for a half-time Director of Curriculum to begin July 1, 2018. This position would be responsible for planning 10 monthly meetings of the Curriculum leaders in the 11-member school districts plus the NC School for the Deaf in Morganton, NC. In addition, this person will work with district curriculum leaders to provide at least 20 NWRESA sponsored professional development events for member district staff members at various locations throughout the region. In addition to these 20 events, the Director will work with Department of Public Instruction (DPI) staff to host various information and/or training sessions for teachers and administrators in the member districts. The current budget for the NWRESA allows funds to support up to 80 in-district professional development activities throughout the 2018-19 school year. The Director of Curriculum will work with individual district curriculum leaders to help broker these events. The new Director will work with the quarter-time NWRESA Director and full-time Office Manager to accomplish the NWRESA goals. While an office will be provided in Wilkesboro (where much of the professional development will occur), it is anticipated that the successful candidate may work from home. The maximum salary will be $43, 200. No benefits beyond matching social security, workers’ compensation, and general liability insurance will be provided. The NWRESA is a 501-C3 charitable organization. Those interested in applying may e-mail their letter of interest and resume to Dr. Don Martin, NWRESA Director, at email@example.com by May 21, 2018.
